Nominations Open for LATA President-Elect

Officer Nomination Update Below

Offices of President-Elect, Secretary, Treasurer, and Director of Professional Development are open for nominations.  Current Nominee status fur each office is below.  Nominations close at Midnight, Saturday January 24, 2026.

Current Nominees:

• President-Elect: Current Bylaws require two nominees.  Serves a two year term as President-Elect before the promotion to President (2 years), then Past President (2 years)
• • Micki Collins, Accepted Nomination and Verified
  • Raymond Raphael, Accepted Nomination and Verified
• Secretary:  Current Bylaws allow incumbents to run unopposed. Serves a four year term.  If proposed bylaw changes are adopted by the membership the next secretary's term will be 5 years, then return to 4 year terms after 2031.
• • Deanna Melancon (incumbent), Accepted nomination and verified
• Treasurer:   Current Bylaws allow incumbents to run unopposed. Serves four year term.
• • Tiffany Gary (incumbent), Accepted nomination and verified
• Director of Pro Dev:  Current Bylaws allow incumbents to run unopposed. Serves four year term.
• • Amanda Benson (incumbent), Accepted nomination and verified

The Nomination/Election time line is below:

• Nomination period 1/10/26-1/24/26.  Members can nominate potential candidates for office by emailing the LATA Secretary at latasecretary@gmail.com by the nomination deadline.
• Verification period 1/25-28/26.  Once nominations have ended, the LATA Secretary will verify candidate eligibility and acceptance of nominations.
• Candidate Bio Materials for web page due 1/28/26 to the LATA Secretary
• Candidates will be announced 2/02/26 on the LATA Election Event Page on latainc.org.
• Voting period: 2/16/26 through 2/28/26
• Votes Verified: 3/2-4/26
• Winner will be announced by 12:00 PM 3/6/26

Election Requirements:

• Candidates are asked to submit a resume as well as a video bio (five (5) minutes max) to the LATA Secretary once verified, due by 1/28/26
• Voting will be online through the LATA website event page.  Members must be in good standing to be eligible to vote.
• Candidates will need a simple majority to be elected to the position they seek.
