Gordon Reynolds Athletic Trainer Award

The Gordon Reynolds Athletic Trainer Award is given to an athletic trainer whose primary responsibility is to provide medical services at the SECONDARY SCHOOL setting.  Mr. Gordon Reynolds was the long-time athletic trainer at John Ehret High School until his retirement from the profession.  In 2015, the LATA Executive Committee rededicated and renamed this award to honor Gordon's legacy of dedication, professionalism and high-quality of care provided to the high school student athlete.


Criteria for Nomination

  • Nomination by a Professional Member of LATA; OR a high school principal/administrator
  • Must be providing athletic training services to a Louisiana high school     

Supporting Documents

  1. Personal recommendation letters attesting to the applicant's merit for the award
    • High school athletics administrator / school administrator
    • Peer high school athletic trainer
    • Peer health care professional (team physician, school nurse, etc.)
